Zoe’s Story.

My first session with Claire at Applied Movement was in 2015. While a shoulder issue was the catalyst for the first appointment, the fact is that I had learned to live with almost constant pain in my neck and back since I was in my teens and that my body and mind were in a bad way.

At that point I believed that if I just pushed harder, I could do anything whether that applied to sports, parenting or work.  How wrong I was.

Over the years, Claire has gently and progressively helped me to understand that while I can’t do everything there is a lot I can do provided that I understand and work within my limitations and nourish my body and mind with what it needs – including both the right kind of food and the right kind of movement.

She has helped to unravel the issues that were causing pain, helped my body to straighten, for the right muscles to be activated, and for my body to now feel safe in movement.

Claire’s approach is entirely holistic and scientific. It encompasses every aspect of your physiology and biology and recognises that no one component is isolated. She also had a way of suggesting what to do, rather than telling me what to do, that made some of the big changes I needed to make easier to come to terms with.

These days, thanks in no small part to Claire’s wisdom and weekly guidance, I have been able to see that slowing down and looking after myself, and understanding myself, is the key to greater success in all aspects of life.
