Today was not about trying to do a good time. Today was trying to see if I can still run
Over the last couple of years I was suffering with a condition called snapping scapula whilst also suffering with headaches everyday and chronic back tightness for many years prior to this condition. This condition was diagnosed by a orthopaedic surgeon who suggested physiotherapy with surgery as a option. I have spent a significant amount of time and money trying various non- surgery avenues, including a number of physiotherapists, a chiropractor, acupuncture and massages, with no success.
Imagine my surprise when at the age of 67 I found myself in need of the services of a ‘movement specialist’ who I thought helped strong young things perform better at high levels of their chosen sport!! Whilst Claire does indeed do this for them, she has helped me immeasurably get over a badly broken ankle, in a sweet and gentle , but none the less, highly effective way.

I ran the Karioi Classic 43km race in Raglan this Weekend. 1397m ascent/descent with a simultaneous Mtb race. It was a circular route around Mt Karioi. I hoped to beat the bikers and nearly did – but i was pipped at the post. As i was in my final km I was passed the 1st and 2nd place riders 2. Way too much tarmac and gravel fire rd for me! but it was full of stunning coastal views and thankfully it was low tide for the 3km on the black sand beach.
I’m a a 39yr old mum. I first saw Claire in mid-2013 to help me with my breathing – a lifetime of asthma (compounded by a more recent string of chest infections) had left me with disastrous breathing patterns. Claire worked with me to unravel my bad patterns and slowly build better breathing patterns in their place
